These flowers are being used to prepare a traditional orange dye in India. They are used to prepare a traditional Holi color. And nowadays also used largely as a dyeing color for fabric (cotton , silk , wool). We generally use Alum as mordant while process of dyeing Flowers of B.monosperma have also been used as blood purifier and its seeds as antiseptic and antihelmentic in Indian traditional medicine.
