Product Descriptions

Apsara dye is made of Rheum emodi also known by the name Himalayan rhubarb, is a conventional natural dye used for textile. It makes bright yellow color and obtains an odoriferous property. This dye is produced by drying the rhizome and roots of a Rheum Emodi. Dye is extracted in aqueous medium from dry powdered materials. The dye when dissolved in soft water and gives golden yellow shade with the salt Alum and copper sulphate on wool and silk. This plant shares core medicinal values in the Indian Ayurveda, it acquires anti-inflammatory and anti–bacterial properties. The medicinal properties of the same are as purgative and astringent tonic.

Dyeing Process

Pre wet

Pre-treat the material with alum 10% of fabric weight at 80 0 C for 60 min.

Pre Mordant 1

Pre-treat the material with alum 10% of fabric weight at 80 0 C for 60 min.

Preparation of dye in hot water

Dyeing

Add the required amount of dye to the dye bath. PH of dye bath needs to be maintained at pH 3. If it's higher than pH 3 add vinegar, if below pH 3,use lime or soda ash. Stir well to dissolve the dye. Add fabric to the dye bath and maintain at 90 0 C for

Post Treatment

Conduct soaping of the dyed material with non-ionic detergent (0.5gpl) at 500 C for 35 min. And then cold wash the material.
